I know that it's silly for me to feel that it matters, but after putting some thoughts in the open, blatantly obvious or not, I feel so much better about, well, everything. Including myself. I've deliberately held myself back socially for two years, using him as a silly excuse for my not making an effort, but after last night, my head is clear and I'm feeling sassy. Good riddance. My haircut conveniently coincided with the revelation. Three cheers for feeling sexy!

I've been listening to a lot of Carmen McRae and Shirley Horn lately, and I found Abbey Lincoln's debut album a few days after the new year, so that's been spinning too. Three cheers for beautiful, strong women doing it their way!

It's rather funny, the stuff that happens when I'm home. A belt loop on my jeans broke last night, for example. Three cheers for playing rough!

Mom and I are getting along just swell. A miraculous thing happened when my teenage years came to a close. We can go to lunch without getting into a screaming match in the car, and talk straightfaced about birth control without her breaking into hysterical tears. Three cheers for the end of adolescence!

Adam and I are planning on driving up to Chico on the 12th or so. It looks like we've got the studio, and Harr's got the mixing software. I think we'll put down five tunes over the few days we'll be there. Three cheers for burgeoning stardom!
